Silver Dollar
The silver dollar is a larger schooling fish of the streams and rivers of the Amazon basin. Silver dollars are one of the hardiest fish in the aquarium trade and have been sold in the trade since the late 1890s. These fish will out grow small aquariums so be prepared to move up. Known as a peaceful community fish, the general rule applies: do not keep with fish that can fit in their mouths. A school of four makes a nice flashy display.
